What It Actually Does

NiceJob automates review collection and puts those reviews to work. After a job is completed, NiceJob sends the customer a review request (via email or text). Happy customers are directed to Google, Facebook, or other review platforms. Less-than-happy customers are directed to a private feedback form. Then it takes your best reviews and turns them into website widgets, social media posts, and Google posts — automatically.

The key pieces:

  • Automated Review Requests — Triggered after job completion via integration with your CRM (Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, etc.)
  • Review Routing — Happy customers go to public reviews; unhappy customers go to private feedback
  • Review Monitoring — Track reviews across Google, Facebook, Yelp, and industry-specific platforms
  • Review Widgets — Embed your best reviews on your website with schema markup for SEO
  • Social Auto-Posting — Turns reviews into social media posts automatically
  • Google Posts — Auto-creates Google Business Profile posts from your reviews
  • Performance Analytics — Track review volume, average rating, response rates

Pros for Trade Contractors

  • Price is right — $39/month is an impulse buy compared to Podium’s $300+
  • Built for contractors — understands trade workflows and integrates with field service CRMs
  • The review routing actually works — unhappy customers get a private form, complaints stay off Google
  • Review widgets are SEO-friendly — schema markup helps your Google listing
  • No contract — cancel anytime, which is refreshing in this space
  • Simple enough that you’ll actually use it — no feature overwhelm
  • Social auto-posting from reviews is clever — your happy customers become your social media team

Cons for Trade Contractors

− No unified inbox — you still manage customer messages separately − No webchat widget for your website − No payment processing — this is purely review and reputation management − Less integration depth than Podium — fewer platforms, less customizability − The social auto-posts can be repetitive — “Another 5-star review!” gets old − Smaller user base means fewer integrations with niche CRMs − No phone support at the Starter tier — email/ticket only

Setup Difficulty

Plug and Play — Start Today

Connect your CRM (Jobber, Housecall Pro, or others), connect your Google Business Profile and Facebook page, and you’re running. The review request triggers are automatic once integrated. Budget an hour for setup, less if your CRM is already one of their integrated partners. The widget installation on your website takes another 15 minutes.

From the Trenches

NiceJob is the tool I recommend to every contractor who asks “how do I get more reviews?” It’s not the most powerful tool in the space — that’s Podium. It’s not the most full-featured — that’s Birdeye. But it’s the one you’ll actually buy and use, because the price doesn’t make you flinch and the setup doesn’t require a training session.

The automated review routing is what makes it work. Here’s how it goes: a customer gives you 4 stars instead of 5 in the NiceJob survey. Instead of being sent to Google to leave that 4-star review (which drags down your average), they get a private form asking “what could we have done better?” You respond, fix the issue, and then ask them to leave a review. That loop turns 4-star experiences into 5-star reviews. That alone is worth $39/month.

The social auto-posting is clever in theory but gets repetitive in practice. “We just got another 5-star review!” posted three times a week reads like spam. Use it sparingly — maybe once a week — and mix in other content.

If you’re doing fewer than 10 jobs a month, the Starter tier at $39 is fine. If you’re doing 20+ jobs a month and reviews are driving your business, the Grow tier at $75 adds the features you’ll actually use — website widgets, Google Posts, and priority support. Skip Pro unless you need multi-location or white-label features.

Alternatives

  • Cheaper: Manual review requests (free but inconsistent)
  • Simpler: Nothing simpler at this price point — that's the whole appeal
  • More powerful (and more expensive): Podium ($249-399/mo, unified inbox + webchat + payment processing)
NiceJob is the review tool most contractors should start with. At $39-75/month, it does the one thing that matters most: automatically getting happy customers to leave reviews. Podium adds features but at 5x the price. For 90% of trade shops, NiceJob is the right call.
